About Us

The American Lung Association of California works to prevent lung disease and promote lung health.

Since 1904, the American Lung Association has been fighting lung disease through education, community service, advocacy and research. Lung disease, including asthma, emphysema, and lung cancer, is the third leading cause of death in America.

The American Lung Association is the greatest single resource for information and education about asthma.
Assuming a leading role in the fight against tobacco, the association helps individuals quit smoking, encourages children not to start smoking, and protects nonsmokers from secondhand smoke.

The American Lung Association also fights for improved air quality standards, so everyone can breathe easier.
At least 80 cents of every dollar raised by the American Lung Association funds community education and programming.
